Tuition Only Scholarship | A $900 Value

United Collegiate Umpires will offer one tuition-only scholarship (a $900 value which can also be used towards the $1250 and $1450 packages which include lodging and transportation) to a baseball umpire assignor (any level) for our February in Florida Clinic – February 24 thru March 1.

The backbone of a successful umpire organization is the education and recruitment of new umpires and no single person is more critical to this process than an assignor. Overlooked despite their hard work, these individuals often do not have the ability to pull away from their assigning overload to participate in their own continuing education, a critical part of their role. Different than our typical Summer/Fall clinics, we hope this scholarship opportunity and the timing of this event allows and encourages participation from assignors nationwide

Any assignor can apply, if the selected individual is also a collegiate level umpire, they will participate in the clinic fully – should the winning applicant not umpire on the field anymore or not umpire at the collegiate level, they will participate in all portions of the camp possible, without hindering the remainder of the camp for other students.

All questions and applications should be sent to Alex Skandalis –

An assigning and umpire resume, a few paragraphs regarding why you should be chosen for this scholarship and a written recommendation from the person of your choosing will make up a full application.

The deadline for submission of a full application is November 30 and a scholarship winner will be announced on December 6.

We encourage everyone to share this message digitally. We are accepting applications from assignors nationwide. Upon receipt of any submission, Alex Skandalis will confirm with the applicant via email.
