Important Information for Umpires

Umpires working college baseball must be NCAA certified

In 2019, umpires must register with the NCAA Baseball Umpiring Home Plate Central Hub, attend one of the NCAA Clinics, and successfully pass the rules examination/test. Following is key information to help you complete the necessary tasks.

To Register

  • Log-on to the NCAA Baseball Central/Home Plate Hub at ArbiterSports.com.
  • Click on the Registration Tab in the top menu.
  • Select Umpires.
  • Read, follow, and complete the pages – including paying the annual fee ($150 for Division I, $130 for Division II, and $120 for Division III).

Register and attend of these 2019 NCAA Baseball Clinics:

  • January 5 – Hyatt Regency Phoenix • Phoenix, AZ
  • January 12 – Rosen Shingle Creek • Orlando, FL
  • January 19 – The Westin O’Hare • Rosemont, IL
  • January 26 – Sheraton Pittsburg Hotel at Station Square • Pittsburg, PA

UCU Umpire Staff Conference Calls

During the course of the season, umpire staff conference calls are scheduled. These calls help umpires keep up-to-date, stay informed, and provide a forum to address any concerns that may come up during the season.

Conference call dial-in information are emailed approximately three days prior to the call. Calls are recorded and posted here approximately one week after the call takes place.
