Important Information for Umpires

Umpires working college baseball must be NCAA certified


In 2020, umpires must register with the NCAA Baseball Umpiring Home Plate Central Hub, view the online NCAA Clinic, and successfully pass the rules examination/test. Following is key information to help you complete the necessary tasks.

To Register

  • Log-on to the NCAA Baseball Central/Home Plate Hub at ArbiterSports.com.
  • Click on the Registration Tab in the top menu.
  • Select Umpires.
  • Read, follow, and complete the pages – including paying the annual fee ($150 for Division I, $130 for Division II, and $120 for Division III).

2020 NCAA Baseball Umpire Clinic

This year the NCAA Baseball Clinic is online. The clinic opens on December 9, 2019 and closes on January 17, 2020. Umpires must review this clinic, it a requirement to umpire in the 2020 NCAA season at all levels. To view the required clinic, login onto the NCAA Baseball Central/Home Plate Hub and click the ELIGIBILITY Tab. After reading all information, click Go to Eligibility Center at the bottom of the page.

UCU Umpire Staff Conference Calls

During the course of the season, umpire staff conference calls are scheduled. These calls help umpires keep up-to-date, stay informed, and provide a forum to address any concerns that may come up during the season.

Conference call dial-in information are emailed approximately three days prior to the call. Calls are recorded and posted here approximately one week after the call takes place.
